My father was a boat owner for over forty years. Two years ago he passed away. Due to handling family affairs and taking care of my mother, his boat became a very low priority. Fortunately for me the boat was winterized but sat outside in a field unattended for two years. Last fall, my children convinced me to take out grandpa’s boat before school had started. I was prepared to uncover a smelly mold infested boat. What I uncovered was an odor free boat with next to no mold or mildew. This is not what I was used to. To me part of the boating experience was cleaning and scrubbing. When I was uncovering the boat, I noticed a solar panel strapped to the cover which led to the fan housing on the drain plug (port). He had installed one of the original aluminum (fan housing) Bilge Wizards. I have been a boat owner for over 20 years myself and I had never seen an unattended boat in such good shape. We have since sold grandpa’s cuddy and now this BilgeWizard is used on my open bow. This made me a believer in constant bilge ventilation which only BilgeWizard offers.

I have been a boat owner for 8 years now. Last year I discovered BilgeWizard. I use my boat about once a week usually on weekday evenings for skiing and tubing which always put plenty of water in the boat. Since I have to get ready for the next day, I quickly cover the boat, take it to storage, install the BilgeWizard and go home. Come the following week we always uncover a dry boat with no smell. On occasion I’ll check the boat on the weekend or take it home for maintenance. It’s always nice to hear the sound of that fan whirring away doing its job. You have a great product.

I have an old metal BilgeWizard that still works fine. I keep my boat stored at a dry dock facility and found a note one day on my boat that said, “What is that thing on the back of your boat? Space 142”. I ran across this owner several days later. Told him it works great and to go to www.bilgewizard.com.

I was amazed that the fan spins on a partly cloudy day. On a sunny day that fan really spins fast. You can hear it do its job. I have peace of mind knowing I can be a thousand miles from home and my covered boat on its trailer is being ventilated. It’s like constantly running your boats bilge blower during the day and shutting it off at night when the dew sets in.

I only use my boat about ten times a year. Since using the BilgeWizard I noticed a cleaner smelling boat when I uncover. That little thing works. It’s a keeper.

Our boat stays on the trailer at our vacation house most of the time. When the boat is not in use, I hardly ever think about it. The times I do think about the boat usually involves thoughts of cleaning. Since using the BilgeWizard, cleaning time has gone down. Before, if we invited guests on the boat I would uncover the boat a day early so they wouldn’t catch a whiff of stale boat. Not anymore. Our boat is over twenty five years old and those old boat odors have gone away by regulaly using BilgeWizard. I only wish this product had been out along time ago.

In the summer of 1997 we were on a family vacation en route to Tennessee. On the way there we stopped to eat at a restaurant. While there, some juvenile delinquents decided to throw a lit cigarette into our uncovered cuddy. The boat exploded into flames which instantly became a total loss. Fortunately our SUV only suffered melted taillights and blistered paint. Needless to say our vacation was ruined. We had uncovered the boat to let it air out while traveling. An arson investigator told us the boat was ventilated but not the bilge. Years have past and I have since bought a new boat. Last month I stumbled across your website and feel this product might have prevented this explosion. I am purchasing one of these (BilgeWizards) for the upcoming season. I know the odds of this happening again are rare, but I’m not taking chances.

One day I noticed my son was playing with the trim on the boat while I was on the phone. This was the first time this boat was uncovered for the season. My son held down the trailer button to the point it caused the hydraulics to malfunction causing sparks and a small fire. The fire did not spread since there was no significant amount of fuel vapors present. Had the BilgeWizard not been installed the outcome could have been much worse.
